Starting off your new adventure
First off, welcome to FlatEarthMC! No, we're not flat earthers, the name is a simply play on words regarding how Minecraft is flat and the map is a earth replica. To start your adventure, join our Minecraft server using the following IP: play.flatearthmc.xyz and join the Discord to get to know our community. If you'd like, you can also open our server dynmap to locate other towns that may interest you or look for a specific place that you might want to settle down, and start a new town. There's one thing key similarity from this server to the real world apart from them sharing the planet Earth; money! Money is a key factor in many servers, and in ours especially. We use virtual currency, which I will refer to as "dollars/$". You can get money from voting, selling items, trading, and many other ways. Money shapes the world, and your town. It costs an upfront fee of $10k to found a town, for those interested in founding a town. If you want to join one, ask the town mayor. Don't think it won't cost however, as some mayors may charge a tax on their citizens, or charge for a plot for you to start building a home.
Creating a town
You've decided to go and settle your own place? Sounds great! Be prepared, it may take you a while to collect the $10k fee for creating a town. If you want to learn more about how to make money without trading, scroll until we talk about the "/sell & /shop" commands. After you've collected the money and have it in your balance (/balance or /bal), go to the chunk you want to found your town on and type in chat /t new (townname). Congrats! If you had enough money, you'll have now founded a new town. If you want to customize your town, feel free to do /t help to learn more about the Towny plugin and it's features. In this town, you'll be safe from raiding, unless the leader of your nation (if you choose to join one) chooses to go to war. Be aware, there's a $25 per chunk upkeep each 24 hours for your town. You can also learn more about towny commands here.
Joining/creating a nation
A nation, just like a real life country/nation yet simplified, is a group of towns, with one main town being classified as the "capital". By default, you'll notice the founding town of the nation is set as the capital. By joining or creating a nation, you can participate in wars among other things.
To create a nation, be sure to have $100k in your balance. Try to keep your nation somewhat geographically/historically accurate. You can do the /n new (nationame) to create a new nation.

/sell and /shop
If you don't want to trade with others yet still make money, you can use the /sell command to sell your items to the server. Not all items will be accepted however most ores will. However, always make sure to look out for other members trading as they may have a more competitive offer compared to the server's default /sell.
If you are looking for a specific rare block, please check our /shop feature. To promote trading among our community, not all blocks will be there. However. special items/blocks like spawners, and "notch" apples (enchanted golden apples) will be there among others.
(/sell) The prices of the following ores are below:
Diamond - $250/diamond
Gold - $75/ingot
Iron - $40/ingot
Coal - $10/coal
Quartz - $10/quartz
Redstone - $2/redstone
